Following the filing of an FIR against Dr. BS Johal, the owner of the Johal Hospital in Ramamandi, Jalandhar, under non-bailable sections of Atrocity (SCST Act) IMA officials have come together. Everyone has assembled and is preparing to open a front against the Aam Aadmi Party leaders and the police officials who filed the case.

Yesterday, officials of the IMA met Police Commissioner Gursharan Singh Sandhu. In a memorandum to the CP, all of the officials demanded the quick cancellation of the FIR filed against Dr. Johal. This FIR has been registered in the spirit of political hatred.

The Indian Medical Association's officials met even today to discuss the matter of Dr. Johal. In the discussion, the officials said that doctors would be unable to perform their jobs if lawsuits began to be filed against them based on such caste allegations. They work in a field where everyone is treated equally. Even if the doctor treats everyone without regard to caste or creed, some people continue to act out.

All of the doctors and support personnel affiliated with IMA agreed during the meeting to protest against the politicians and police officers who filed fake cases.

Yesterday IMA had warned that if this case registered due to political rivalry is not canceled, then it will close the OPDs of private hospitals. This process will be carried out initially at the district level. After that, it will be run at the state level. However, they will be obliged to stop providing emergency care at the hospital if the case is not dismissed.

While supporting Baljit Singh Johal, IMA national vice president Dr. Navjot Dahiya, state-level officials Dr. Alok, Dr. Sushma Chawla, Dr. Amarjeet, Dr. Deepak Chawla, etc., have directly warned that if the government pays attention to this matter, any doctor will refuse to take emergency cases in the coming days, along with closing the OPD. After that, whatever problems the public encounters will be the administration's responsibility.
