Pakistan PM Imran Khan once again tried to support of the international community and threaten India by giving a 'befitting reply' amid unrest in the country over the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

"I have been warning the international community of this for some time and I am reiterating again: if India does such an operation to divert attention from its domestic chaos plus whip up war hysteria to mobilise Hindu nationalism, Pakistan will have no option but to give a befitting response," Imran Khan posted on Twitter.

Imran Khan also went on to use the protests in India over the amended citizenship act to claim that there is a "threat" to Pakistan from the neighbouring country.

Imran said that the situation in Kashmir will escalate once prohibitory orders in the Union territory are lifted and a "bloodbath" will ensue. Reacting to Indian Army chief Bipin Rawat's statement that the situation on LoC can "escalate anytime", Imran Khan termed it a distraction.

"At the same time the siege by Indian Occupation forces in IOJK continues & a bloodbath can be expected when it is lifted. As these protests are increasing, threat to Pak from India is also increasing. Indian Army Chief's statement adds to our concerns of a False Flag operation," Imran Khan tweeted.

Calling the protests across India over Citizenship Act a "mass movement", Imran Khan alleged Narendra Modi-led government of moving towards "Hindu Rashtra".

"Over the last 5 years of Modi's govt, India has been moving towards Hindu Rashtra with its Hindutva Supremacist fascist ideology. Now with the Citizens Amendment Act, all those Indians who want a pluralist India are beginning to protest & it is becoming a mass movement," Imran Khan tweeted.
