With few days to go when the lockdown 2.0 of India gets over on May 3, it is speculated that India might extend its lockdown further. On Wednesday, Bangladesh extended the nationwide shutdown of offices and workplaces till May 5 amid a worsening coronavirus outbreak. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said on Wednesday that a  formal notice announcing the extension will be published on Thursday.

On the other hand, Spain approved the extension of lockdown till May 9, however, the Spanish government exempted children to go out on short walks for the first time in more than a month. With Europe's second-highest death toll of 21,717 and the world's second most infections at 208,389, Spain's tough restrictions have included a controversial ban on children leaving their homes since mid-March.

While Singapore on Tuesday has extended by four weeks until June 1. A partial lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus infections in the city-state, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Tuesday. The measures, which include the closures of most workplaces and schools, were initially set to run from April 7 until May 4.

The World Health Organization on Wednesday said that that the coronavirus continues to be extremely dangerous and will remain for a long time.

"Make no mistake: We have a long way to go. This virus will be with us for a long time," Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said at the daily briefing on coronavirus.

India's lockdown is set to end on May 3. Going by PM Modi's last speech he had said that if the cases won't deplete, India will continue its lockdown. If any states want relaxation in the restriction it will have to be with zero coronavirus cases. However, unline Spain India has more than 21 thousand cases, but the nation registers almost 1000 cases every day.

Therefore it won't be a surprise if India imposes partial lockdown like Singapore till June 1. PM Modi will be doing video conferencing with the Cheif Ministers of states on COVID-19 issues and lifting of lockdown.
