India suspends all domestic and international flights till May 3

On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to nation declared that lockdown is going to continue till May 3.

Following this, the aviation ministry has decided to suspend all domestic and international flights till the last day of the extended lockdown.

On March 24, PM Modi had announced the lockdown for 21 days which was slated to end on April 14, but now it has been extended for two more weeks. However, India had banned all international flights much before the lockdown was announced while the domestic travel was also suspended after a few days.

Meanwhile, with the lockdown being extended, government sources have said that all domestic and international airlines operations will remain suspended till May 3 midnight.

Since March 24, when the country was put on complete lockdown, 650 aircraft have been stranded at different airports across India.
