South Africa has resumed its international flights. Taking away all restrictions, Indian tourists are now allowed to travel to the country after a long period.
Indians can now take a tour to South Africa both for business and leisure objectives by maintaining and following coronavirus safety protocols.
Indians who wish to visit South Africa will have to apply for their travel by sending their tourist visa applications to the nearest VFS Global Office first, which will begin from November 23. As per the Consulate General of the Republic of South Africa, international travellers across the world are welcomed in South Africa given that they follow prescribed safety norms and produce negative Covid-19 tests report.
Like any other country, South Africa restricted travel of International travellers since March 2020 and had closed its international airports as coronavirus was spreading all over the world.
Though the South African government had opened the country to all countries in October 2020, it blocked the entry of travellers from India, the US and Germany, where Covid-19 cases were the highest and increasing every day.
But now travellers from all countries are allowed to fly to South Africa by following certain rules.
1. Travellers must produce a negative PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test conducted not more than 72 hours ago before taking the flight.
2. Travellers who do not have a medical test report on landing, will have to self-quarantine at their own cost.
3. Travellers having a connecting flight in any airport through the ‘yellow fever belt’ or are reaching from that area of Africa, South and Central America, will have to produce a mandatory vaccination certificate.
