Veteran spinner, Harbhajan Singh announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket on Friday. The 41-year-old cricketer took 417 wickets in 103 Tests, 269 wickets in 236 ODIs and 25 scalps in 28 T20Is in his illustrious career.

The former Indian off-spinner shared the news about his retirement by sharing a tweet on his Twitter handle. He wrote, “All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable.”

Harbhajan said on his official YouTube channel, "My journey from the streets of Jalandhar to become the Turnabator for Team India has been a beautiful one. There is no bigger motivation for me in life than stepping out on the field while wearing the India jersey. However, there comes a time in life where we have to take a tough decision and you have to move forward in life. I was waiting for the last few years to make this announcement public - I am retiring from all forms of cricket.”

Now, the speculations of joining Indian politics are in full swing. Recently, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu posted a photo with cricketer Harbhajan Singh, captioning,"Picture loaded with possibilities.. with bhajji, the shining star.”

Such romours are not new as a few days ago; it came to notice that BJP was eyeing to bring Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh in politics. But, Harbhajan singh denied this and called it fake news.

After the announcement of retirement ahead of Punjab’s election 2022, a debut in elections will be a bright opportunity for the star cricket performer. He is a popular face in Punjab. If he joins politics, it will bring a change in the politics of Punjab.
