Family members of Punjab’s most wanted gangster Jaipal Bhullar, who was killed by West Bengal Police in an encounter on June 9 in Kolkata, refused to cremate the body citing they have found multiple fractures and injuries all over his body. They alleged that the encounter was ‘staged’ and demanded a thorough investigation in the matter.
The family also said they will first send the body for postmortem as they have found multiple fractures over his body. They submitted a letter to the DC Ferozpur demanding a second postmortem in Ferozpur itself.
Jaipal’s family also alleged that they were harassed by Punjab Police and made to wait for long hours and it was only after media’s pressure that the body was handed over to them.
