Providing further information, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal stated that this initiative aims to prevent the spread of water and mosquito-borne diseases during the monsoon season and facilitate the general public. He said that people can contact this phone number to report any problems related to stagnant rainwater, road and house damage, etc.
Additionally, to report contaminated water supply and any related issues in the city, the WhatsApp number 90415-83252 of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation can also be used.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that necessary instructions have already been issued to the officials to take immediate action on the information received on both the helpline and WhatsApp numbers. He said that the district administration is fully prepared to tackle the challenges posed during the monsoon season. He mentioned that for this purpose, related departments have already been directed to repair water supply and sewerage pipelines, clean the sewerage system, prevent the spread of waterborne diseases through chlorination, fogging, and other preventive measures.
