Indian National Congress (INC) on Saturday appointed Jalandhar Cantt MLA Pargat Singh as Secretary in AICC Uttarakhand. Pargat Singh who was a former Captain of the Indian Hockey Team before he stepped into politics took to his X handle and expressed his gratitude to Congress leadership. Pargat Singh on his X wrote, "Grateful to Congress President @kharge ji, @RahulGandhi ji and
@kcvenugopalmp ji for appointing me as Secretary in AICC Uttarakhand. I’m dedicated to giving my best and working closely with every Congress worker."
Notably, a few days back, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) appointed MLA Pargat Singh as the party's observer for assembly polls of Jammu & Kashmir. For the unvrrsed, Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in Jammu and Kashmir from 18 September to 1 October 2024 in 3 phases to elect 90 members of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 4 October 2024.
