Jalandhar Commissionerate issues 45 challans & impounds 4 vehicles

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has conducted ]operations on 7th December 2024 and 11th December in order to address drunken driving and prevent liquor consumption inside vehicles for the safety of the public.

These drives were carried out under the supervision of ACP Central and ACP Model Town at Workshop Chowk and Satluj Chowk under the jurisdictions of Police Station Division No. 2 and Police Station Division No. 6.

These operations were led by the SHOs of Police Station Division No. 2 and Police Station Division No. 6, supported by the Traffic Wing, Emergency Response System (ERS), and the Field Media Team (FMT).

The aim of this drive was to curb drunken driving and liquor consumption inside vehicles, enhance public safety and maintain law and order in vulnerable areas.

A total of 180 vehicles were inspected during the operation and breath analysers were deployed to detect alcohol consumption.

During the drive, 11 challans were issued for drunken driving, 6 challans for two-wheelers without proper number plates, 12 challans for helmet violations, 7 challans for triple riding, 5 challans for driving without a valid license and 4 vehicles were impounded for lack of documentation.

With these operations, the Commissionerate Police is raising awareness among the public about safe driving practices.
