Victim Narinder Kaur claimed that Navjot had used the rope to enter her home previously as well. In the village, a panchayat meeting was held to discuss this issue, where both parties were able to come to an agreement. She scolded Navjot in the panchayat at that time. For the same reason, Navjot had been holding a grudge against her. He attacked her again because of this hatred. But after the attack, when he was trying to run, she recognized his face because of a light outside her house.

However, now the offender has been arrested by police. Officials say the case is still being investigated for robbery and assault. If the medical checkup after the X-ray revealed substantial harm, the case would be classified as premeditated murder. Currently, the accused has been brought before a magistrate and imprisoned.
