JEE Mains 2021: Dates of pending exams expected soon, exams likely in mid-July

As board exams of Class 12th and Class 10th have been canceled, it is expected that Education Minister would soon announce the expected dates of entrance exams – JEE (Mains) and NEET.

JEE Mains, which is entrance exams to the IITs, NITs, is conducted four times a year, to offer flexibility to students to improve their grades. The first test is conducted in February, which is followed by a test in March. The third and the fourth exams are conducted in April and May respectively, but due to Covid-19 and Covid lockdowns rest two sessions are yet to take place. 

Now, National Testing Agency (NTA) is finalizing the date for Joint Engineering Entrance (JEE) Mains. While addressing media, the NTA has informed that the exam dates have been finalized and would be shortly announced. On the other hand, the Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has also said that he would address the queries of the students related to board exams today evening.

As board exams of Class 12th and Class 10th have been cancelled, it is expected that Education Minister would announce the expected dates of entrance exams – JEE (Mains) and NEET.

Meanwhile, several reports have suggested that the third session of JEE (Mains) is expected to begin on July 17, 2021. But the NTA has denied circling on any exams date, for now, sources in the ministry have mentioned that the exam is expected to be conducted from mid-July and the next session would be held within a gap of about 25 days as well as both sessions would be concluded in the month of July.

Still, a final decision would be announced by the Ministry of Education after reviewing the situation of Covid-19 in the country. 

Source told the media agency, “The pending editions of JEE Mains are likely to be conducted at the end of July or starting of August with a fortnight’s gap between the two tests. NEET is likely to be pushed to September.”

On average, around nine to ten lakh students appear for the test of JEE Mains each year.

National Testing Agency would announce the JEE (Mains) exam dates. It is expected that the exam dates would be released 15 days before the date of the exam.

It is expected that during the address Education Minister would also announce updates related to the medical entrance exam – NEET. For now, NEET 2021 is scheduled for August 1, 2021, but as the applications for the entrance examination have not been released, therefore, it is expected that the scheduled date would be changed. It is also expected that the NEET exam pattern would be changed. Previously, it was said the there would be more questions in the exams to offer choices to the students.
