After supporting Asim Riaz for Big Boss, famous WWE superstar John Cena paid a tribute to late Rishi Kapoor. Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor died on Thursday (April 30). Kapoor was suffering from cancer and was admitted to hospital on April 29. He had returned from the US in September last year after undergoing treatment there for a year.
Kapoor had started his career in Mera Naam Joker and featured in successful movies like Chandni, Bobby, Amar Akbar Anthony, Namaste London among many others. He married Neetu Singh, whom he shared the screen within a few movies. Their son Ranbir Kapoor is also a Bollywood star and has featured in a number of commercial hits.
From PM Narendra Modi to the President of India, a number of personalities paid tributes to Kapoor, who worked in Bollywood for almost 50 years.
“Multifaceted, endearing and lively...this was Rishi Kapoor Ji. He was a powerhouse of talent. I will always recall our interactions, even on social media. He was passionate about films and India’s progress. Anguished by his demise. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti,” Modi wrote on Twitter.
