Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) Chief & former MP Simranjit Singh Mann on Thursday stoked a major controversy when he made an objectionable remark about Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut. Simranjit Singh Mann who is the former MP from Sangrur, Punjab while interacting with the media was asked about Kangana Ranaut's remarks on farmers protest. Responding to it, Simranjit Singh Mann made an objectionable remark saying-
"I don't want to say but Kangana Ranaut has a lot of experience with rape. She can be asked how rape happens. Then, people can be taught that this is how rape happens."
On being asked how Kangana has an experience in rape, Simranjit Singh Mann said, "The same way experience comes. Like if you ride a bicycle don't you get the experience of riding a bicycle? In the same way she is experienced in rape."
Simranjit Singh Mann was responding to the remarks of Kangana Ranaut which she made in an interview saying that dead bodies were hanging and rapes were happening during farmers' protests. If the BJP government would not have handled the situation, India could have been turned into Bangladesh. Notably, the BJP in their statement distanced themselves from Kangana's remarks.
On Wednesday, Ranaut admitted that she was reprimanded by her party, the BJP, over her remark on farmers’ protest. The Lok Sabha MP from Mandi said she was looking forward to being more careful with her words and aligning with the party’s policies.
