In Jalandhar, Punjab, notorious gangster Kannu Gujjar, an associate of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, was killed in an encounter by Jalandhar City Police. The accused was wanted in several cases of murder, extortion, and racketeering.
An encounter took place between Jalandhar City Police and the gangster. In which about 9 bullets were fired from both sides. In which Kannu Gujjar was hit by about 5 bullets. At present, his condition remains critical. Police have recovered two illegal weapons from the accused at the scene of the incident. The Police Commissioner will soon reveal this.
According to sources, gangster Kannu Gujjar is an associate of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. The Special Cell of Jalandhar City Police had registered a case, which Kannu Gujjar was absconding. Based on the information, Kannu was arrested by the CIA staff team of City Police from the Balachaur area of Nawanshahr this morning. The accused was living with the associates of gangster Ravi Balachauriya in Balachaur.
The accused opened fire during the recovery.
Initial interrogation revealed that the accused had hidden weapons in Jalandhar. After the arrest, the CIA staff team immediately brought the accused to 66 Foote Road in Jalandhar. Where the accused told that he had weapons lying there. When the police reached there with the accused, the accused freed himself from the police. After which he opened fire with the weapon recovered from the accused.
Bullets hit Gujjar's legs, stomach, and back.
The accused had directly fired at the CIA police party. Thankfully, the police party did not get hit by any bullets. Then the CIA staff team of the city police retaliated. In which five bullets hit Gujjar. After which the police arrested him from the spot. The accused has been hit by bullets on his legs, stomach, and back.
Kannu Gujjar was critically injured in the encounter and is currently receiving medical treatment. Initial recovery of 2 weapons, with an additional 6 weapons seized in subsequent searches, bringing the total to 8 weapons recovered. The recovered weapons include 8 pistols, 55 live rounds, and 8 cartridges. 8 FIRs of heinous crime were already registered against Kannu Gujjar.
This arrest brings the total number of arrests from this gang to 10 associates and 16 weapons in total.
