9 labourers killed, several injured after blast at Solar Industries Company in Maharashtra

The Solar Explosive Company in Bazargaon village of Nagpur experienced a tragic incident, resulting in the loss of at least nine lives. Harsh Poddar, SP Nagpur Rural, reported that the blast occurred during the packing process in the cast booster plant at the Solar Explosive Company. This devastating event led to the untimely demise of nine individuals, including six women.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis expressed his condolences, describing the incident as unfortunate. He extended his sympathies to the families of the deceased and assured them of the state government's support. Fadnavis also announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the heirs of those who lost their lives in the explosion. The Solar Explosive Company is known for manufacturing drones and explosives for the defense forces.

Satyanarayan Nuwal, the chairman of Solar Industries, confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred on a Sunday morning while laborers were packaging defense products. Preliminary reports indicate that the explosion took place during the packing process at the cast booster plant within Solar Explosive, a facility that manufactures defense products, including bombs and missiles.

“I do not know the exact number of casualties, but I was informed that five to six persons died due to the explosive blast,” Nuwal said.

This tragic event has deeply affected the local community and the authorities are actively involved in addressing the aftermath. The Nagpur Collector, Superintendent of Police, and other officials are working diligently to manage the situation and provide support to those affected by this unfortunate incident.
