They say women are no less than anyone, and Ludhiana’s Manjinder Kaur has proved this true. Not only does she ride a Bullet motorcycle on the streets of Ludhiana, but she has also completed an incredible journey of over 3,000 kilometers to Leh-Ladakh, becoming the city’s first female biker to do so. Riding as part of a bikers’ group, Manjinder has earned immense admiration for her determination and courage.
Manjinder shared how she had always dreamed of riding a Bullet motorcycle since childhood, but societal norms at the time prevented her from pursuing her passion. Her father, an Army officer, owned a Bullet bike, and watching him ride ignited her dream. However, being a girl, she was never allowed to learn. Even after marriage, responsibilities kept her from fulfilling her dream.
Now, with her daughters grown up—aged 17 and 12—and after quitting her job, Manjinder decided it was time to chase her long-lost dream. She learned to ride a Bullet and joined a biker group from Chandigarh, embarking on a thrilling and challenging journey to the mountainous terrains of Leh-Ladakh.
Her daughters now take pride in her achievements, and she even takes her mother-in-law on rides to the market on her Bullet. She believes that while managing household responsibilities is important, keeping personal dreams alive is equally essential. Through her journey, she inspires other women to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams.
