In a harrowing incident, a shopkeeper in Ludhiana was found to be raping a 9-year-old girl after tying her arms and legs with a rope. According to reports, the accused was found in the middle of the shameful act by the victim’s parents.
As per the information received, the victim had gone to the accused’s shop, Karyana store, to buy some ice on May 19. However, she had gone out for a long time, prompting her parents to search for her. When they reached the grocery store, they found the accused, Ram, restraining their daughter’s arms and legs and molesting her private parts. Seeing the parents, the accused fled the scene while threatening to kill the girl.
FIRs registered against the accused
The victim came home and told her mother that the accused had raped her unnaturally by tying her arms and legs. At present, the police of Meharban police station has registered a case against accused Ram under section IPC 342,376,377,506, 6 of the Protection of Children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act.
