Raising the voice against the crime, a Ludhiana widow has alleged that Lok Insaf Party Chief Simarjit Bains had raped her. The widow has written a letter to Police Commissioner, Ludhiana, and has sought action against MLA Bains.
As per the complaint, Bains has been accused of raping a widow and selling her house for luring her to get a new one.
The copy of this complaint is doing rounds on the internet, however, no action has yet been taken by the police.

On the other hand, Simranjit Bains has refuted the allegations leveled at him and has termed it a 'political fray.'
