The pandemic Corona is just not letting down, and this time it is the state of Maharashtra has to bow before it.

Tentatively, the exams have been postponed with the class 10th exams to June, and the class 12th exams to May.

The exact dates will be decided and announced “on the developing situation, which the administration is monitoring”, said the state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.

She elaborated that this decision to postpone the exams is not unilateral, and the same has been reached in consultations with various stakeholders such as students, teachers, parents, elected representatives from across parties, academicians, and tech giants.

She further detailed that various alternative assessment options were evaluated.

All this is in the backdrop of a potential for a complete lockdown in case the Covid situation does not improve.
