Manish Gupta Case: Accidental death or planned murder?

A 36-year-old businessman from Kanpur died on Tuesday morning under suspicious circumstances after being beaten by police officials.

Manish Gupta was staying at a hotel in Gorakhpur UP along with 2 other friends when they were bothered by some Police officials who claimed to have come for a raid. 


A day after Manish died after being brutally beaten by the Police, a case had been registered against the Gorakhpur Police officials. The victim's wife has accused the Police officials of having killed her husband and has demanded justice. 


According to the statement given by Manish's wife Meenakshi, the two friends who accompanied her husband claimed that there was blood everywhere right after the policemen had beaten Manish, but the Hotel staff tied hands with the Police and had cleaned up the room in order to get rid of any evidence. 


Meenakshi added that there was no sign of blood on the hotel room floor even after evident wounds on her husband's body. The family of Manish Gupta has put forward three demands that have to be fulfilled by the respected authorities, which includes a compensation of Rs 50,00,000/- for the family, along with a state government job and the case to be transferred to the Kanpur police station. 


Charges of murder have been registered against the 6 policemen who are on the run after the alleged murder case surfaced. The authorities have suspended the policemen including the SHO. 


Soon after a video had surfaced over the internet where Manish's wife Meenakshi was seen crying for justice of her dead husband who had been brutally murdered.
The video enraged the people on social media and soon the case came to light as the media attention was inevitable by the Gorakhpur police. The police while conversing with Manish's family tried to manipulate them into not registering a case against the Policemen, justifying it as a 'lengthy process'.

In response to which a lady present in the room started recording a video and which later went viral over the internet. The gut-wrenching truth of the corrupt system was highlighted when the evident signs of murder were tampered with.
