After Goa CM and former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on Sunday evening, a huge number of political leaders and masses attended his cremation and paid homage to the demised leader.

The BJP leader passed away after a prolonged pancreatic cancer due to which he was under treatment from various hospitals in Goa, Delhi, Mumbai and New York.

The cremation was attended by thousands of people paying their respect and affection to one of the highly respected leaders across the state.
Announcing a national mourning, the Centre had declared schools and colleges to be closed today.

The BJP leaders who attended the cremation included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP Supremo Amit Shah and many more.

PM Modi after cremation took to the micro-blogging site Twitter expressing his respect for the deceased leader.

"Paid tributes to my friend Shri Manohar Parrikar. He personified humility, simplicity and compassion. The good work he has done will be remembered for years to come," tweeted Modi.

Now, the political environment of Goa is going to be under turmoil as Congress have already staked claims to form a government in Goa and BJP is also in talks with the alliance partners about the future strategies.
