MP Mass Suicide: Family of five including a 5-year-old child found hanging in Burari-like case

While most of the family members were found hanging in their room in Ravdi village, their 9-year-old daughter was found dead lying on the floor.

A horrific incident came to the fore in Madhya Pradesh's Alirajpur district when an entire family was found dead in their home on Monday. While most of the family members were found hanging in their room, their 9-year-old daughter was found dead lying on the floor. Hence, Police are suspecting the deaths as mass suicide in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh. The family was said to have a farming background. The bodies of a farmer, his wife, and three children were found in their house. 

Rakesh Dodwa (27), his wife Lalita Dodwa (25), and their sons Prakash (7) and Akshay (5) were found hanging next to each other from the ceiling of their house with rope, while the body of their daughter, Laxmi (9), was found lying on the floor.

At first, the Police thought that the entire family died by hanging, however, the cops were informed that that the couple and their two sons were found hanging, while the girl's body was lying on the floor of their house in Ravdi village.

A Police official was quoted by a newswire saying, "The information about the death of five people at Ravdi village in Sondwa tehsil was received at 9.20 AM on Monday."

A Special Team has been constituted to investigate the Ravdi Village Mass Suicide Case as there was no suicide note found. As per the Police, the family head Rakesh Dodwa was a farmer. He also used to work as a mason in Gujarat.

What was the Burari Case?

Notably, the Madhya Pradesh Mass Suicide incident has reminded the people about the shocking Burari Deaths again. The Burari death case was so horrifying that even Netflix made a docu-drama on it under the name House of Horrors.

House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths is based on the shocking case of mass suicide in which eleven family members of the Chundawat family from Burari, Delhi were found dead in 2018. Ten people were found hanged, while the oldest family member, the grandmother, was strangled. The bodies were found on 1 July 2018; in the early morning after the death. The police have ruled the deaths as mass ritual suicide, motivated by shared delusion or psychosis.
