A survey conducted by IANS-Matrize News Communications nationwide has shown a resounding backing for the Modi government's war against terror with over 90 per cent of the respondents having reposed their faith in the Centre's determination and zero tolerance attitude towards acts of terrorism.

In response to a question if the Modi government could put an end to terror and their masters, 92 per cent of the respondents replied in the affirmative while just 4 per cent differed.

On another query of whether the present government headed by PM Modi was most assertive and hardest on terror, 79 per cent of the people responded in the affirmative, and a mere 16 per cent held a different view.

Interestingly, when armed terrorists killed innocent people in the meadows of Baisaran valley in Pahalgam, the Modi administration was vocal and clear in their intent of punishing Pakistan.

Within days of the terror strike, the government declared multi-faceted punitive actions, suspending the Indus River Water Treaty, reducing diplomatic relations, and two weeks later initiating decisive military attacks on the Pakistani terror camps.

In the recent action, the Centre has launched a broad diplomatic campaign against Pakistan, sending an all-party delegation to every corner of the globe to publicly unveil Pakistan's terror web and to once again affirm the nation's zero tolerance for terrorism.

Operation Sindoor not only leveled a range of terror camps, ranging from Jaish and Lashkar command centers functioning from Pakistani territory, but also struck a fatal blow to Pakistan's several air bases.

The global media and satellite images have also indicated extensive damage on the Pakistani side.

The Indian military and PM Modi have been hailed for the success of Operation Sindoor. The public has hailed the Centre firstly for vapourising terror hubs in Pakistan and secondly for providing operational freedom to forces, and also strengthening India's defence readiness in the last decade.

This was also the perception that was commonly seen among people's opinion as they ranked Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the most powerful leader to teach Pakistan a lesson.

Approximately 70 per cent expressed confidence in PM Modi's leadership, whereas 8 per cent opined that they were undecided.

No one else even comes close to PM Modi, whom the public can trust, Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, of course, in single digits, as the survey reveals.

Interestingly enough, the Matrize opinion poll surveyed a sample of 7,463 individuals from all over the nation between May 9 and May 15.
