Jalandhar administration is all set to administer as many as 50000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine in a single day by organizing the mega vaccination camp on Saturday. This include as many as 140 locations across the district alongwith deployment of 80 mobile teams.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that on Saturday such a large number of camps would be held, where as many as 50000 doses to be administered to eligible beneficiaries adding the fresh vaccine has arrived in Jalandhar.

The DC said that the directions have been issued to all the officials to organize the inoculation camps in almost every area of the district to a maximum coverage of the beneficiaries. He said that vaccine is the only way to return to normalcy and the district administration will leave no stone unturned by vaccinating every eligible before the advent of the expected third wave. He said that the officials are already spreading vaccine literacy among the people so that everyone must get vaccinated to combat the virus effectively.

Mr. Thori appealed to people to participate in these camps in huge numbers so as to make it a mega success. He mentioned that without people's support this drive cannot achieve its goal.

The also told that there is a greater need to be vigilant as the virus is still among us and we have to be very cautious. He asked the people to continue to observe Covid-19 appropriate behaviour including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and hand hygiene.

Prominent among others present on the ocassion included Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwant Singh, DIO Rakesh Chopra, and SDM Dr. Jai Inder Singh.
