Union ministers Narendra Tomar and Piyush Goyal connected with the farmers for the lunch break during today's discussions which have been described as a "decisive meeting".

Visuals from inside Vigyan Bhavan, where the sixth round of negotiations is being held shows the two ministers are being served the langar - community meal which the farmers bring with them. Earlier, throughout every meeting at the Vigyan Bhawan, the farmers have denied taking the food that was offered to them by the government.

They sat on the floor and always had langar, brought in by a waiting van.

"They offered us food, we denied and are having our langar, which we have brought with us," a farmer leader had said during the meeting held in November.

Another farmer leader said, "We are not accepting food or tea offered by the government.”

Farmers leaders were frequently invited to join the ministers which they refused politely.

The government has been hoping for a breakthrough in this round that would help resolve the protests that have been raging at the borders of Delhi since November 26 and farmers refusing to accept any amendment in the laws.
