Lalit Modi, the former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner has criticized the ICC (International Cricket Council) for the extremely expensive price of tickets being sold for the upcoming India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup. Lalit Modi went on his Twitter account and lashed ICC while revealing the cost of tickets for the Diamond Club.
As per the information, the Indian vs Pakistan match that will be held in New York is one of the most awaited matches that Indians look forward to. But the price at which the tickets are being sold is shocking. The price of tickets for Diamond Club for the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match is Rs. 16 lakhs. While criticizing the price of tickets Lalit Modi stated that the price should be based on fan engagement and game expansion instead of profit-earning motive. Lalit Modi tweeted on X, “Shocked to learn that ICC is selling tickets for Diamond Club at $20000 per seat for the #indvspak WC game. The WC in the US is for game expansion & fan engagement, not a means to make profits on gate collections. $2750 for a ticket It’s just #notcricket #intlcouncilofcrooks.” ICC has till now not responded to the allegations raised by Lalit Modi.
