Mumbai: Having thrashed the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their den, the highly confident Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to host Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday. Both teams winning their last game will make the encounter of Wednesday exciting.

The Wednesday encounter will be one of the rare matches when the eyes of the crowd will be on a bowler. The 22 years old Caribbean bowler Alzarri Joseph, who was drafted to the MI team in place of injured Kiwi spearhead Adam Milne, crumbled the strong batting line-up of the Sunrisers in his debut IPL match. Joseph's figure of 6 wickets giving only 12 runs became the greatest figure in IPL history till now.

However, the presence of storm in the batting line-up of Punjab in the name of Chris Gayle can dismantle any bowling attack.

In the previous encounters, the MI holds an edge over the KXIP, as out of 22 matches the hosts have won 12 and the rest by the visitors.

The most successful batsman for Mumbai against Punjab is Kieron Pollard. He has scored a total of 327 runs against KXIP. On the other hand, Aussie batsman Shaun Marsh has scored the maximum run for Punjab against Mumbai with 526 runs. But this year Marsh remained unsold.

When it comes to the man with golden arm, Malinga tops the list with 22 wickets against KXIP.
