The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress alliance seems to be on its way to forming the government as the grand alliance has already established leads on 40 of 81 seats in the 2019 Jharkhand elections. The results may spell trouble for ruling BJP which has only managed to establish leads on 29 seats so far. Counting for the five-phase Jharkhand Assembly elections in the state is underway.

Congress-RJD-JMM alliance's chief ministerial candidate Hemant Soren said a new era for Jharkhand has begun. On being asked if the deputy chief minister would be from the JMM, he said things would get clear in the coming days.
