This Friday, the DGP of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav, announced on X, that the Isapuria Virk’s murder case has been solved and the culprit has been arrested. Punjabi singer Navjot Singh Virk, popularly known as Isapuria Virk, was shot and killed in Mohali six years ago in an attempted robbery. The police have been scratching their heads for five years but the case has now been solved. Here are the details:
The arrested individual has been identified as Abhishek alias Rajat. Upon questioning he revealed that the him and his accomplice, Saurabh were attempting to rob his vehicle. When Virk resisted, they shot him and he died on the spot. Saurabh has reportedly passed away since the incident while Abhishek has been arrested.

Navjot Singh Virk is from Dera Bassi near Chandigarh. He left his home to attend a music class at 11:00 A.M on May 28, 2018. He reportedly told his mother that he will return shortly. When he didn’t return home at 12:00 P.M., his family tried to call him on his phone. Startled when he didn’t pick up, his family started searching for him.
Virk’s father, Sukhbir Singh reportedly found his car 2 kilometers away from his house on the Barwala road. Upon investigating further, he found the bullet riddled corpse of his son. The murder weapon, a 0.9 MM pistol, along with cartridges was found on the spot by the police.
The killer has been identified as Abhishek alias Rajat. He was joined by his accomplice Saurabh who has since died.
