Nihang Singhs attack Police raiding team in Ludhiana village; SI's fingers chopped, SHO's face attacked by sword

The Police team went for a raid in village of Kamalpur in connection with a car robbery case that took place about 4 days ago.

In a bizarre development, a Police team went on a raid and were attacked by Nihang Singhs in Ludhiana, Punjab on Friday night. The Police team went for a raid in connection with a car robbery case. 4 employees including the SHO of Thana Sadar and the In-charge (SI) of Police Outpost Marado were injured. SHO has a sword cut near the eye, while the Outpost In-charge has lost 2 fingers.

During this time, the police arrested one accused, while the rest of the attackers fled. The injured officers and employees were brought to the Civil Hospital, where they were given treatment. The incident took place around 10:15 pm on Friday. 

As per reports, about 4 days ago, 3 Nihang Singhs looted an Alto car from a person in the village of Sangowal at gunpoint. In this case, late at night, SHO Harshvir and Marado Police Outpost In-charge Tarsem raided village Kamalpur to search for the accused.

Seeing the Police, one Nihang Singh started running. Then the police tried to catch the accused, but during this time the Nihang attacked the SHO with a sword. Chowki in-charge Tarsem Singh came forward to save him. Meanwhile, the accused Nihang called his 10 to 12 companions. All the attackers surrounded 4 police personnel and attacked them with swords.

As per the Police, one accused has been arrested. The police team is investigating the matter.
