The Jharkhand High Court on Friday declined Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad's bail application in a fodder scam case. The minister will remain in prison.

Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh turned down Prasad's bail request in the Dumka treasury case, a branch of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.

The court has asked Lalu to file a fresh plea after two months. The RJD president is left to serve two more months in jail to complete the half tenure of his total sentence in the case.

Prasad has already acquired bail in three out of the four cases of the fodder scam in which he has been convicted and acceptance of his request in the case related to the illegal withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from the Dumka treasury could have landed him out of the prison.

Currently, Lalu Prasad Yadav is undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi. Last month, he was shifted to Delhi AIIMS from the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi on the advice of the state medical board after his health condition turned worrisome.
