Today, India is struggling due to the second wave of coronavirus. Doctors and nurses are working 24 hours to save the lives of the patients, regardless of their lives.

One such nurse is Swati, who is working in the Railway Hospital in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. She is treating Covid positive patients in the Covid ward. There some patients are not able to hear. Henceforth, Swati decided to learn sign language to ease their treatment. She learned the language through the internet.

The video of Swati communicating to the deaf patient is going viral on social media and people are praising her. Railway Ministry has also praised her through Twitter.

During the treatment of deaf patients, Swati realized that she cannot communicate with them. In such a situation, she decided to work hard for hours and learned sign language. This made the communication with those patients easy and now she was able to understand their problems which helped her to get better treatment.

This kind of effort of Swati not only won the hearts of patients but railways have also praised her.

On Twitter, Railway Ministry shared the video and wrote, “मानवीय करुणा और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा का अनूठा उदाहरण! सुश्री स्वाति, छत्तीसगढ़ के बिलासपुर में रेलवे अस्पताल में एक मूक-बधिर मरीज के लिए एक नर्स हैं, जिन्होंने संचार को आसान बनाने, समझने और रोगी की बेहतर तरीके से मदद करने के लिए साइन लैंग्वेज सीखी है। (A unique example of human compassion and duty devotion! Ms. Swati, a nurse for a deaf corona patient at the Railway Hospital in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh has learned sign language to ease the communication, to understand and help the patient in a better way).”

Today, on International Nurse Day, Swati gave another example of how the medical staff is working hard to save the people. International Nurse Day is celebrated on May 12, every year to honor nurses.
