Types of Chinese Visas: Choose your type

  • The L Visa is a tourist visa for leisure travel, sightseeing, or visiting family or friends (settled but permanent residents) in China.
  • The M Visa is a commercial visa for all business, trade, or commercial purposes in China.
  • The A Z Visa is an employment visa for those who want to work professionally in China.
  • The Q2 Visa is a family visit visa for seeing your family members who are Chinese citizens or permanent residents.

Breakdown of the Chinese Visa application process

  • Visit the CVAC website: You shall find the official CVAC website for your region.
  • Fill out the online application form: Provide accurate information and submit the necessary documents.
  • Submit your application: Visit the CVAC and submit your application with all the required documents.
  • Pay the visa fee: Keep the payment receipt once you pay the applicable visa fee.
  • Get your visa: Return to the CVAC on the specified date and time to collect it.

Required Documents

  • Your original passport. It should have at least six months' validity and enough blank pages.
  • Completed visa application form.
  • Multiple passport-size photographs of yours.
  • Supporting documents based on your travel purpose (e.g., a business letter for a business visa) are crucial as they provide additional information about your trip and help the visa officer understand the purpose of your visit.
  • There can be several other documents, as requested by the CVAC.

Visa Fees

  • A single-entry visa costs approximately Rs 2,900 (excluding service fees).
  • A double-entry visa costs approximately Rs 4,400 (excluding service fees).
  • A six-month multiple-entry visa costs approximately Rs 5,900 (excluding service fees).
  • A 12-month or longer multiple-entry visa costs approximately Rs 8,800 (excluding service fees).
  • Express fees apply for expedited processing, and service charges are applied by the CVAC.
