On Friday, Pargat Singh was seen inaugurating “Open Gym” in Jalandhar, here the education minister expressed disappointment and was upset with the act done by the unemployed teachers, including climbing on the water tank and Gherao House.
The education minister said that climbing on a water tank cannot add pressure on the government and everything would happen according to the system. He also expressed strong displeasure over unemployed teachers’ gherao house, he said that he has aged parents at home, who are not comfortable with noise.
He further added that if anyone wants to meet him then they can come and meet him at Jalandhar Cantt from Friday to Sunday and talk “logically,” he said regarding unemployed teachers sitting at the water tank.
Pargat Singh assured the unemployed teachers that by November 30, 2021, around 20 thousand eligible candidates would be recruited in the education department. He said that he has asked the officers to prepare and submit the vacancy report. Then will take its approval from the cabinet and then the notification will be issued. Pargat said that since 1999, there was no recruitment of lecturers in the education department therefore, now the government is going to recruit 1100 lecturers.
On Thursday, the unemployed teachers protesting outside the house of Education Minister Pargat Singh in Jalandhar were beaten up by police and one of the protestors fell unconscious.

Accordingly, these teachers were marching towards the Education Minister’s house for “Ghar Gherao” and were stopped by the police officials. Amid all this, a brawl between the police officials and teachers occurred. Later, the police were instructed for the lathi charge.
