Patiala Violence: Hindu-Sikh organisations clash near Kali Devi Mandir; Mann says 'Peace Restored'

Patiala Clash: CM Bhagwant Mann has tweeted about the violent clash between Shiv Sena and SAD (Amritsar) workers over the anti-Khalistan protest in Patiala, Punjab. 

CM Bhagwant Mann has described the incident clash in Patiala as unfortunate. Mann has informed by tweeting that the DGP has been talked to and peace has been restored in the area.

The policemen deployed on the spot had to open fire and tear gas shells to maintain a law and order situation.. Clashes broke out between two groups near the Kali Devi temple in Patiala today. 

In a video going viral on social media, pro-Khalistan supporters waved swords and pelted stones at Shiv Sena workers.

The DSP said, "Police have been deployed here given the law and order problem. We are talking to Shiv Sena chief Harish Singla as he does not have permission to march.

Punjab's peace and harmony extremely important:

Mann Reacting to the violence, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann called it extremely unfortunate.

He tweeted, "I spoke to the DGP, peace has been restored in the area. We are closely monitoring the situation and will not allow anyone to create disturbance in the state. 

The peace and harmony of Punjab are of utmost importance. Hitting out at AAP and the Punjab government, Congress leader Gaurav Ballabh called Arvind Kejriwal a busy person. 


He said, "Bhagwant Mann did not seek instructions from the CM of Delhi, which is why Punjab is facing a law and order problems. This is a model of misgovernance."

The Shiv Sena had decided to take out the protest march after Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu today issued a decree to erect flags at DC offices in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. April 29 is Khalistan Foundation Day.

Responding to this, Shiv Sena's Punjab working president Harish Singla announced that his organization would take out an anti-Khalistan march in Patiala on April 29. 

He further said that some Khalistanis are conspiring to break India and want to create a divide between Hindus and Sikhs of Punjab.
