After Dr. Subramanian , the award presenter announced the name of Dr. Varinder Pal Singh and asked him to come on the stage to receive the award. Though we came on the stage, he humbly refused to accept the award.

“I want to say to the honorable minister that once the PAU-LCC technology goes to the farmers, it can annually save about Rs 750 crores rupees in Punjab only and India, the savings of the government it would be in billions. So, I’m thankful to you for giving this technology recognition. Thank you, Dr. Satish Chander,” said Dr. Varinder while addressing the audience.

“I have a humble submission that at this time of crisis for the nation when our farmers are on the roads, my conscience does not allow me to receive the award. So I wish that we work together for the nation and the government shall listen to our dear farmers. The work I did is only for the farmers and the nation, so I feel I would be guilty at this moment If I receive this ward but I have great gratitude for the Chemical and Fertilisers and Director-General FAI, so kindly accept my apologies," he said while refusing the award.

He urged all the guests present in the function to jointly work for the farmers so that we can make India a great nation.
