During a meeting with US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advisers on November 23, doctors have said that Public health authorities and drug makers must remain transparent about the side effects people may experience after taking their coronavirus vaccine dose.

Doctors have said there is a possibility that people may feel little unwell after getting COVID-19 vaccine doses, thus people should be made aware of that.

This fact comes when several of the drug-makers have declared their vaccine has shown positive results and countries are preparing to allow emergency use authorisation. Likewise, few states in the US are planning to start the distribution of doses as early as December.

Coronavirus vaccine emergency use approval for both Pfizer and Moderna requires two doses at intervals.

Dr Sandra Fryhofer of the American Medical Association has expressed her concern in the CNBC report over her patients not returning for a second dose as they may experience severe side-effects after their first shot.

During the meeting with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), a panel within the CDC, Fryhofer said patients should be made “aware that this (vaccination) is not going to be a walk in the park”.

She added that people would feel wonderful about getting vaccinated but they should know that they will have to get the second dose as well.

In September, the participants in Moderna and Pfizer’s clinical trials had told CNBC that they were experiencing high fever, body aches, bad headaches, daylong exhaustion and other symptoms after taking the shots. Though these side effects do not stay for long.
