What is Pink Moon?

The full moon seen in the month of April is called the Pink Moon. It can be understood from the light spectrum. There are seven colors in the light spectrum - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. This is why sometimes the colour of the moon appears red or blue. The air around the Earth can change the color of the moon to an extent by blocking or spreading some colors of light. This is the reason for this phenomenon.

This Pink Moon will be a micro moon. This means that the moon will be at its farthest distance from the Earth. This place is called Apogee. Because of this, the moon looks a little smaller and dimmer than usual at night. Supermoon takes place when the moon is closest to the Earth. During this time they appear big and bright. Micromoons are known for their serene beauty.
