Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today hosted breakfast for the Indian Olympic team at his residence, serving 'churma' to India's golden boy Olympian Neeraj Chopra, as well as treating star shuttler PV Sindhu with ice cream fulfilling his promise.
PM had promised Sindhu that if she won a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, he would have ice cream with her. Sindhu bounced back from a painful setback in the semi-final to defeat China's He Bing Jiao in the bronze medal match.
On August 16, a day after PM Modi praised the Indian athletes from the Red fort for their incredible performance in Tokyo 2020, he hosted the entire Olympic contingent for a felicitation ceremony.
The pictures of the event were shared on Twitter by the official handle of Mann Ki Baat Updates.

PM Modi was also captured taking a selfie with the Indian men’s hockey team which made the entire country proud by winning bronze at Tokyo 2020 Olympics after 41 years.

The wrestlers, Ravi Dahiya and Bajarang Punia were also present at the breakfast.

During these Olympic games, India broke its own record and won a total of seven medals making the major tournament historic.

Neeraj Chopra threw 87.58 metres in his second try at the javelin throw final and won the gold medal for India. Where, Indian Men’s Hockey team, wrestler Bajrang Punia, boxer Lovlina Borgohain and shuttler PV Sindhu managed to win the Bronze; wrestler Ravi Dahiya won the silver medal; Mirabai Chanu made history by becoming the first Indian weightlifter to win a silver medal in the Olympic Games by lifting a total of 202 kg at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
