Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a farmers' rally in Gorakhpur on February 24, kick-starting the campaigning in Eastern Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming general elections.

On Saturday, BJP sources said that the Prime Minister will attend the conclusion ceremony of the national convention of two day Kisan Morcha by the party. On the occasion, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various schemes.

PM Modi is also expected to kick-start the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Yojana worth Rs 75,000 crore. Under the scheme, a sum of Rs 2,000 will be given to 1 crore farmers. 

According to sources, BJP National President Amit Shah will be inaugurating the two-day Kisan Morcha's national convention on February 23. To make a successfull rally, the party leaders and workers are working hard.
