Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has decided to introduce Wellness tourism and he has come up with a new wellness tourism policy in order to boost the tourism in the state.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has decided to introduce wellness tourism in the state as it can boost the tourism in Punjab. The Punjab government has introduced a new wellness tourism policy, under which modern wellness resorts with traditional Indian medical systems like naturopathy and Ayurveda will get opened in the state.

These wellness resorts can act as a game changer in promoting and boosting tourism in Punjab. These wellness resorts will be divided in three categories including Gold, Silver and Bronze. The wellness resort built in the Gold category will be built in almost around 10 acres whereas the Silver wellness and Bronze category wellness resorts will be built in minimum two acres. These resorts will also have the facilities of tents.

Silver category will have minimum 10 and the Bronze category will have at least 5 double bedrooms. All of these will have swimming pools and sports facilities as well. Along with this, these resorts will have a lot of open space for the tourists.

In the Gold category resorts the tourists will be provided with in-house services. These will have a minimum of 20 double bedroom hotels. Under the wellness policy introduced by the Punjab government, Ayurveda, Unani and expert yoga instructors will be hired in these resorts for the tourists. These resorts will provide multiple services like spa, yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, naturopathy and skin care treatments which will encourage the people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has set a target to make Punjab an international tourist destination by the year 2030. The government will also preserve rich culture, art and heritage of the state.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has planned to boost the tourism in Punjab and has said, “Our government will leave no stone unturned to promote Punjab as a world tourist destination. The rich and glorious heritage of Punjabis has attracted people for centuries. Every inch of Punjab's land has been touched by the feet of Gurus, Pirs-Faqirs, martyrs and poets. About one lakh devotees come to Amritsar every day for darshan. Now the state government is focusing on highlighting the special aspects of other places in Punjab. Every village in Punjab has memorials of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country before and after independence, which needs to be told to the world. Punjab is also a land blessed from the geographical point of view. The state government wishes to take the tourism sector to new heights. No stone will be left unturned in this great task aimed at the progress and prosperity of the state and its people.”
