Punjab Govt. accepts former Kapurthala DC Karnail Singh’s VRS

Senior IAS officer of Punjab and former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kapurthala Karnail Singh has officialy retired. Singh had tendered his resignation in April 2024 which was accepted on Thursday. A notification has also been issued in this regard. Meanwhile, Karnail Singh said that now he has retired. Karnail Singh also specified that he has no intentions of joining the field of politics in the future.

Karnail Singh is of the 2015 batch of IAS officer. Singh had applied for Voluntary Retirement (VRS) from his post three months ago. He had also sent an application to the Chief Secretary reportedly because angry due to not getting a posting following transfer from the post of DC on January 30. After this he applied for VRS and was to retire on 30 September.

Karnail Singh's family and relatives live in Canada and he says that now he will be spending time with his family. He told that when he was on duty, getting an ex-India leave was difficult. However, now he can spend valuable time with his loved ones. Apart from this, he said that he has worked in various fields. He will spend his time reading books and other things.
