Multiple parts of North India including Bihar, New Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, etc on Thursday were hit by thunderstorms and lightning. Apart from torrential rainfall, strong winds blew in many parts of North India yesterday. In fact, 25 died in Bihar due to lightning. In the meanwhile, IMD Chandigarh has also issued a warning for a similar type of weather in multiple districts of Punjab (Punjab Weather Today). Notably, IMD had issued an alert for thunderstorms in Punjab on Thursday and Friday. However, there was no rain in Punjab on Thursday. On Friday, since morning clouds covered the skies of Punjab. It means IMD's prediction may come true today.
Punjab Weather Prediction on April 11
IMD has warned of thunderstorms and lightning in several areas of Punjab. Regions such as Bagha Purana, Faridkot, Moga, Ferozepur, Zira, Shahkot, and Jagraon may experience wind speeds reaching 40–50 km/h accompanied by lightning. Additional warnings have been issued for Mansa, Sunam, Sangrur, Barnala, Tappa, Dhuri, Malerkotla, Talwandi Sabo, Malout, Bathinda, Gidderbaha, Rampura Phul, Jaitu, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Jalalabad, Payal, and Ludhiana — with forecasts predicting bad weather and potential rainfall.
An additional alert has been issued by the IMD as well. According to the alert, there is a possibility of strong winds and rain in Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Muktsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, SAS Nagar, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Moga, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda and Muktsar in Punjab. Not only this, but a hailstorm alert has been issued along with strong winds in Patiala. No alert has been issued regarding rain in Fazilka and Sangrur.
