Among those who are being made ministers, Harpal Singh Cheema and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair have been the leaders of the opposition. 

Apart from these, the MLAs who will be sworn in as ministers have become MLAs for the first time.

The cabinet of the Aam Aadmi Party, which formed the government for the first time in Punjab, will take oath today. In the cabinet of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, 10 ministers will take oath on Saturday. 

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 11 am. Mann's cabinet has got 1 woman, 4 Dalits and 2 Hindus.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday announced the names of his cabinet colleagues and congratulated them. Mann tweeted photos of his cabinet colleagues. 

According to this, Harpal Singh Cheema, Dr Baljit Kaur, Harbhajan Singh ETO, Dr Vijay Singla, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Gurmir Singh Meet Haier, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Bram Shankar (Zimpa) and Harjot Singh Bains will be sworn in as ministers. He will be administered the oath of office and secrecy at a ceremony to be held at the Raj Bhavan.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has talked about how to make Punjab

Mann wrote on Twitter, "The new cabinet of Punjab will take oath tomorrow. Many congratulations to all the ministers who will be in the AAP government of Punjab. The people of Punjab have given us all a big responsibility. 

We have to serve the people by working hard day and night, to give an honest government to Punjab. We have to make Rangla Punjab.

Among the MLAs who will take oath as ministers, Harpal Singh Cheema and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair have been the leaders of the opposition earlier. Apart from these two leaders, the MLAs who will be sworn in as ministers have become MLAs for the first time. 

Only one woman has been given a place in Bhagwant Mann's cabinet. At the same time, four MLAs of the Scheduled Castes are being made ministers. 

These include the names of Harpal Singh Cheema, who won from Didba, Baljit Kaur, who won from Malot, Harbhajan Singh ETO from Jandiala and Lalchand Kataruchak from Boa.


Who will be administered the oath of ministerial post?

The name of Gurmeet Singh Media, close to AAP's national convener Arvind Kejriwal and who won from Barnala, is also included in the list of people to be made ministers. 

Apart from these, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who won from Ajnala, Laljit Singh Bhullar from Patti, Brahmashankar Zimpa from Hoshiarpur, Dr Vijay Singla from Mansa and Harjot Singh Bains from Anandpur Sahib will also be administered the oath of office. 

On the other hand, if we talk about region-wise representation, then five MLAs from Malwa, four from Majha and one MLA from Doaba have been made ministers in Mann's cabinet. 

In this way, if we look at the caste equation, apart from the Chief Minister, 4 Jatt Sikhs, 4 Dalits and two Hindus will be given a place in the Mann cabinet.

How many MLAs can be made ministers in Punjab

There are 117 assembly seats in Punjab. According to the rules, only 15 per cent of the MLAs can be made ministers. This means that apart from the Chief Minister, 17 MLAs can become ministers. 

In this way, the place of ministers in Mann's cabinet will remain vacant. 

Bhagwant Mann took oath as Chief Minister on March 16 at Khatkar Kalan in the village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The Aam Aadmi Party has historically won 92 seats in the Punjab Assembly elections. Earlier, no party had got so many seats.
