Punjab Police DSP serving at Khanauri Border suddenly dies from Heart Attack while exercising

DSP Dilpreet Singh (50), resident of Ludhiana in Punjab, suddenly collapsed while exercising due to a heart attack. On Thursday (February 22), he was doing gym at Park Plaza Hotel near Bhaibala Chowk on Ferozepur Road where he suddenly collapsed on the ground while exercising. Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav shared his condolences in a twitter post, where he also informed that the deceased DSP was performing duty at the Khanauri Border as well.

 

Dilpreet Singh had been ACP in Ludhiana. Presently he was posted in Malerkotla. He loved gyming, so he used to go to the gym daily to exercise. Being fond of boxing, he used to practice boxing in the gym as well.

 

On Thursday, he reached the gym at around 4 pm. Suddenly he felt pain in his chest and collapsed. After this, with the help of the gunman and other people, he was taken to the hospital, but by then he had died. DSP Dilpreet Singh's colleagues say that he was very conscious about his health and regularly exercised.

 

Dilpreet Singh has been a national level swimmer while his sister has been an international level swimmer. In the year 1992, Dilpreet Singh joined Punjab Police as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI). During this period he served in various police stations. In view of his excellent work, he was later promoted as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
