The Seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 sees polling across all 13 constituencies of Punjab is going on. By midday, 37.80% of voters have cast their vote. By 5 PM, 55.20% if the voters had cast their vote. Bathinda retook the lead from Gurdaspur with 59.25% voter turnout. In Gurdaspur, 58.34% of voters exercised their franchise. The lowest voter turnout was still recorded at Amritsar with 48.55%.

Highest voter turnout in Punjab was recorded in 1967 elections with 71.13%. It was also the year that saw Punjab churning out the highest voter turnout of the whole country. In 1967, India recorded a voter turnout of 61.04%. Lowest voter turnout ever recorded in 1992, when militants boycotted the elections in the presence of increasing terror activity, and to protest the government at the time. A voter turnout of 23.96 % across the state was recorded.
The 2024 Parliamentary elections in India saw 2.14 Crore voters of Punjab casting their vote on 24,451 Polling Stations across the state on June 1. To encourage voter turnouts there were several incentivising initiatives undertaken by the Election Commission, targeting over 70% turnout. All major political parties will be contesting the elections solo for the first time. BJP and SAD will be contesting the elections solo for the first time since 1996.
