Deals worth $2.47 billion signed by Qatar Petroleum

On Monday, Qatar Petroleum (QP) signed agreements with 3 global giants worth 2.47 billion US dollars as part of a plan.

Qatar Petroleum said in a statement that the plan shows the importance that Qatar attaches to the localization of the energy sector, and it is expected that an investment of 15 billion Qatari riyals would be added in local economy.

QP signed the contracts for oil services with Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, which recently celebrated 70 years of presence in Qatar.

QP has a progressive plan to raise up the production output from 4.8 million to 6.5 million barrels per year and also to increase the production of it's liquefied natural gas from 77 to 110 million tons per year by 2024.
