Raizada Hansraj stadium to have yoga and aerobics center as speaker Rana KP releases grant worth Rs. 5 lakhs

Speaker Punjab legislative assembly Rana KP on Saturday handed over a cheque of grant worth Rs. 5 lakhs to district badminton association to develop yoga and aerobics centre at Raijada Hansraj stadium.

 Member of interim committee and former national player Ritin Khanna while thanking the speaker for this grant apprised him about the various activities of the committee for over last one year. He added that to further facilitate the players five new synthetic courts and gymnasiums have been developed in the stadium besides opening up of Olympian Dipankar Bhattacharya academy so that players can prepare themselves for national and international level tournaments.

Khanna further informed the Speaker Rana KP that Raijada Hansraj Stadium was the first stadium in the county to operate amid CoronaVirus pandemic while strictly adhering to the safety protocol issued by the government for which the interim committee has received appreciation from the international players’ community.

 Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Rana KP emphasized on the need of sports to keep oneself fit especially amid Corona Virus pandemic while exhorting people to take preventive measures to keep the virus spread at bay. The speaker further appreciated the efforts of the interim committee for upholding the rich sports legacy of the Jalandhar city and assured the members that he would visit the stadium whenever he visits Jalandhar city besides extending helping hand to the district badminton association in the future also.
