Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati narrated that once the businessman asked for some money from him as he was not carrying cash on an airport in London.
While many stories have inspired people of all ages, Ratan Tata on December 28 would have turned 87 years old. Nevertheless, the businessman's work and charity are such that even after his death, Ratan Tata's birthday cannot be forgotten as he was truly a 'Kohinoor' of India.
Apart from his philanthropic work, people around the world often dig deep into Ratan Tata's marriage life or Ratan Tata's love life. For the unversed, Ratan Tata never got married, however, he certainly dated a celebrity TV host.
Ratan Tata 83rd Birthday: Why did he not get married?
As per reports, Ratan Tata once dated celebrity TV host Simi Garewal. Ratan Tata's relationship with Simi Garewal was so serious that they were very close to getting married. During the 1970s, Ratan and Simi's shared interests brought them closer.
In 2011 during an interview with Etimes, Simi once revealed of sharing a close bond with the business tycoon. But after some time their relationship broke up. However, Ratan Tata and Simi Garewal remained good friends even after the breakup. When Ratan Tata came on Simi Garewal's show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, he made many revelations.
During the talk show, Simi Grewal had asked Ratan Tata why he never got married. In response, Ratan Tata said, 'Many things happened that stopped me from getting married. The timing was not right and then I got so busy with work that I did not have time. I came close to getting married many times, but things did not work out."
After Ratan Tata's demise, Simi Garewal took to her Instagram handle and wrote, "They say you have gone ..It's so hard to bear your loss..too hard.. Farewell my friend."
It is pertinent to mention here that Ratan Tata was also linked to Bollywood as a Producer. Ratan Tata produced Vikram Bhatt's directorial Aetbaar, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, and Bipasha Basu.
The movie was a psychological thriller inspired by the Hollywood hit film Fear, which was released in 1996. However, Aetbaar failed miserably at the box office and hardly minted 7.96 crores. The film’s failure led to Ratan Tata never returning as a producer.
